38 year old Jonathan Luna is a beloved husband and father of two. Luna worked as a assistant United States Attorney in Baltimore, Maryland. Jonathan is described as a hard working man. He was dedicated to his job, So much so that he often stayed late at the office to continue working on the cases he was assisting.
The day of Jonathan Luna’s disappearance
On December 3 2003, Jonathan had been in court working a case where two men were charged with running a drug ring from a music studio. After court Luna returned to his office, he was seen heading towards his car at approximately 11:38 pm. It was later found that Jonathan had driven to Delaware approximately 83 miles (2 hours) away from Baltimore. Luna payed for three tolls with his E-Zpass, but changed to using cash on the other tolls he drove though. While he was in Delaware he withdrew $200 from an ATM at the JFK Plaza service center. He then drove to Pennsylvania a further 219 miles away ( 3 hrs 33 mins), Why he did this can not be explained. Along the way to Pennsylvania he passed a toll road, His ticket was found covered in blood, Indicating he had already been attacked.
Discovery Of Jonathan Luna
On December 4 2003, Daniel Gehman an employee of Senseing and weaver a well drilling company in Lancaster county, Pennsylvania, was the first person to clock into work at 5 am, Daniel had made him self coffee and 30 minuets later went out side to fuel up the companies 6 trucks when a red reflection caught the corner of his eye, By this point another employee had shown to work, both men went to check what is was in the stream, The men had found a car head first into the stream with the lights off and the engine running, The police were contacted and it was then found that it was in fact Jonathan Lunas four door silver Honda Accord, there was blood smeared all over the drivers door and the front left of the car. Jonathan’s body was found under the cars engine in the shallow stream with 36 stab wounds to his neck and chest, it was later found these wounds were done with his own pen knife. The pool of blood in the rear of the car was a match to Luna indicating to detectives that most if not all the attack had taken place there.

The $200 Luna withdrew from an ATM earlier in the night had not been stolen but it was found scattered all over the car, giving the impression that someone had searched the car looking for something.
Autopsy
Despite Jonathan having 36 stab wounds and a head injury, the cause of death was found to be from drowning.
Further information on the case :
No suspects or motive for murder where ever found. The FBI (federal Authorities) lean towards suicide and came to the conclusion he was alone from the time he left his office until his body was found. Additional evidence collected during the investigation found a second blood type and a partial print. The investigation remains open and there is a $100,000 unclaimed federal reward for any information leading to a conviction.

Jonathan Luna appeared to be in such a rush leaving his office the night he disappeared that he left the glasses he needs to drive on his work table along with his mobile phone.
